Put your brand in the answers AI gives
Your customers don't type your category into Google anymore: they ask ChatGPT which brand to choose. i am rank tells you if you're in the answer, who you're up against, and what to do to stay there.
Free, 2 minutes, no card.
Either your brand is in the answer, or it doesn't exist.
When a customer asks an AI which brand to choose, they leave with two or three names. They don't look for a fourth. Ranking well doesn't settle it anymore: what counts is being cited, or not.

How do you get ChatGPT to recommend your brand?
You don't choose the brands ChatGPT recommends, but you can give it reasons to choose you. It names the brands it already knows and the ones it finds in the pages it reads when it searches the web. Five things matter: let its crawler read your site, answer each of your customers' questions, get cited in the sources it reads, say the same thing everywhere, and measure.
The method works for Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI Overviews. Each AI has its own crawler and its favorite sources: that's why we measure engine by engine.
Where our numbers come from
193 answers from 10 AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Mistral, DeepSeek, Grok, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode), collected by i am rank from October 21 to 28, 2026, on two questions asked in French: “How do I get ChatGPT to recommend me?” and “How do I get AI to recommend my brand?”
01
Let its search crawler read your site
ChatGPT finds pages with OAI-SearchBot. OpenAI states it in black and white: a site that blocks this crawler doesn't appear in ChatGPT search answers. Check your robots.txt and your firewall. A change takes effect in about 24 hours.

02
Answer each of your customers' questions, one page each
“What's the best…”, “how much does… cost”, “what's an alternative to…”: one page per question, the answer in the first lines, dated figures, and a table when you compare. All in plain text, readable without JavaScript.
03
Get cited where ChatGPT reads
In our data on this question and its variants, Reddit is named in 36% of answers, Trustpilot in 28%, Google Business Profile listings in 22% and G2 in 21%. What others say about you counts: reviews, forums and comparison articles in your category.
04
Say the same thing everywhere
Your name, category, prices and countries should be identical on your site, your listings and your profiles. You don't need special markup for AI: Google only asks that your structured data match the visible text of the page.

Measure, question by question
A test in your own ChatGPT is skewed by your history. Ask the same questions every day, on several AI engines, and look at who gets cited instead of you, and thanks to which sources. That's what i am rank does.

Three moments when it really matters
01
You launch a product
AI engines don't know it yet. Within a few days you see whether they start citing it, on which questions, and what's missing for them to recommend it.
02
A competitor is rising
You're alerted the day they enter the top 3, and you see on which questions and thanks to which sources. You respond where it counts, not everywhere.
03
You open a new market
Your visibility in Paris isn't your visibility in Brussels or Montreal. Each market has its own tracking, in its own language, with its own competitors.
The right plan for a brand
One brand and one market to start with. Autopilote and several markets when you want to speed up. All 10 engines are included in every plan.
The questions brands ask
How do I get ChatGPT to recommend me?
Let OAI-SearchBot, OpenAI's search crawler, read your site. Publish a page that answers each question your customers ask, with the answer at the top. Get cited in the sources ChatGPT reads in your category: reviews, forums, comparison articles. Keep the same information everywhere. Then measure, question by question, over several days: a single answer tells you nothing.
What about getting other AI engines to recommend my brand?
The same basics apply. For Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Google says no special optimization is required: your page must be indexed and eligible to appear with a snippet in Google Search. For Claude, Perplexity or Mistral, check that their crawlers aren't blocked and look at which sources they cite in your category: they change from one AI to the next.
Do I need to pay for ads to get recommended by ChatGPT?
Not to be discovered. For merchants, OpenAI's documentation separates two settings in the product feed: appearing in ChatGPT search, and being eligible for ads. The ad fields aren't required to be discovered. Ads are a separate channel. Recommendations are earned with the five steps on this page.
What size of brand is i am rank for?
From the brand that's just starting out to the one with a marketing team. The Solo plan is enough to track one brand in its market. Pro when you want Autopilote, several markets and unlimited history.
Does it replace my SEO?
No, it adds to it. AI engines draw on the same pages as Google, but they sort and recommend differently. We show you what matters to get cited by the models, without breaking what you already do for Google.
Does it work in my language and my market?
Yes, that's the core of the product: the questions are asked in your language and in your market. France, Belgium, Switzerland, Quebec and other markets are available.
I sell to consumers, not businesses. Is this relevant?
Yes. AI engines also recommend sneakers, face creams and online banks. If a customer can ask ChatGPT “which brand of…”, this applies to you.
How long before I see results?
Your first rank in 2 minutes with the free scan. After that, the first mentions usually move within a few weeks, the time it takes the models to reread your pages and the sources that talk about you.
