Claude
Also called: Claude AI, Anthropic Claude
Definition
Claude is a conversational assistant and a family of language models developed by Anthropic, an American company founded in 2021. It is used by the general public, by businesses and by many tools that build it in, for writing, research or code.
Claude can search the web to answer with recent information, and then cites its sources. Anthropic uses several crawlers: ClaudeBot to collect training data, Claude-SearchBot for search, Claude-User when a user asks it to read a specific page.
Example
A purchasing manager preparing a tender asks Claude to compare three payroll software vendors. Claude looks up their pages and a few comparisons, then writes a table.
What it means for your AI visibility
Many business tools use Claude behind the scenes. If your pages block its crawlers or arrive empty without JavaScript, your brand disappears from all those answers at once.
