Brand sentiment in AI answers
Also called: AI sentiment, brand sentiment, tone
Definition
Sentiment, in AI visibility, describes the tone of an answer when it brings up a brand. An AI can name your brand while recommending it, describe it neutrally, or associate it with flaws: high price, slow customer service, limited features.
That tone comes from the sources the engine read or learned from: customer reviews, forums, press articles, comparisons. You can see it in the words used and in the caveats the AI adds, like “but some users report slowdowns”.
Example
“Brand X is known for its simplicity, but its support is often described as slow”: the mention is positive on one point and negative on another. Two signals to track separately.
What it means for your AI visibility
Being cited isn't enough if it's to be advised against. Sentiment shows you which complaints keep coming back, and so which sources, reviews or pages you need to work on.
